Day Therapy (around the county)
As a day therapy volunteer you will be part of the team who create a warm and welcoming environment for patients and their family members or carers. You will support patients at different stages of their journey through a life limiting illness.
• Day Therapy Host, providing a warm welcome, refreshments and a listening ear.
• Arts and Crafts Facilitator, assisting patients with arts and crafts projects. The patients work is often displayed in our centres and community venues.
• Receptionist (Lincoln), providing a professional` and friendly welcome on arrival.
• Complementary Therapists offer therapies as part of a day therapy care plan. Our primary therapies are Reiki, Indian Head Massage and Therapeutic Hand Massage.
"Volunteers in a number of roles are a vital part of the Day Therapy team. From drivers enabling patients and carers to attend, receptionists and hosts greeting them and making them feel welcome, to craft volunteers, complementary therapists and chaplains providing elements of the holistic care, volunteers play key roles in the service. Many of our patients are anxious about accessing Hospice services for the first time, and the support they receive from volunteers to alleviate this is very important"
Mark Mumby, Day Therapy Team Leader (North)
