Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft flying at 10,000 feet - the noise of the engines and the wind ringing in your ears with only the outline of distant fields below. Now imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go - falling forward into the clouds, diving down through the air as you start freefalling at over 120mph! Then imagine the peace and quiet as the canopy opens, the steering toggles come down either side of you and you begin a tranquil parachute descent from a mile up in the air, steering yourself back down to the centre of the drop zone below. Imagine being able to do this for FREE whilst harnessed to a professional freefall parachute instructor and at the same time being able to help a national charity! Stop imagining, it's real and it's happening all the time and you can be part of it...

Technically the jump is called a 'Tandem Skydive'. It is a Skydive because you will be freefalling through the air (without the parachute deployed) for several thousand feet; it is in Tandem because you will be harnessed to a professional parachute instructor at all times throughout the descent. This is the only way you can jump from such an altitude without spending thousands of pounds becoming a freefall parachutist. This is literally the chance of a lifetime!

This jump is also much less demanding than the traditional ‘static line’ jump as the jump and training are completed in one day and your instructor will be in control of your landing.

All you have to do is raise £395 (or more!) in aid of St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice by  asking your friends and collegaues to sponsor you

Come and join our Annual Open Gardens including Skellingthorpe Hall ground and enjoy many beautiful gardens, The Methodist Church will be open from 12 noon - 5 pm with additional refreshments and photographic displays and Songs of Praise at 5 pm. St Lawrence's Church will also be showing a Celebratory Floral display and holding activities for children.

St Barnabas Jubilee Live & Local" will be showcasing some of Lincoln’s finest talent on Saturday 2nd June in the beautiful gardens at the Golden Eagle pub. The Golden Eagle is renowned for its hand pulled quality local ales from local Lincolnshire brewery.

Bands from Lincolnshire including the outstanding The Treehouse (http://www.buildthetreehouse.com/) will be performing. Bring the family along as there will be children’s activities including a bouncy castle, giant games and face painting. There will be offers on real ale, a BBQ with local sausages and burgers and a quiz in the evening. Come along and celebrate the Jubilee & St Barnabas birthday. All proceeds to St Barnabas Hospice.

This year’s it’s a Knockout has a sports style theme with lots of new games. We are looking for teams of 10 people (teams can be mixed) to take up the challenge to pit their skills, strength, stamina, ability to walk a slippery pole etc against competing teams through a series of fun, foamy inflatable games reminiscent of the 1970's television show. It promises to be great family entertainment and a fantastic day out for spectators as well as competitors, with a bar, BBQ and other activities.

It guarantees to be a day filled with lots of thrills and spills, screams and laughter!

The Summer Fair will see the lovely one-acre garden at the charity’s Day Centre at Hawthorn Road, Lincoln, be full of fun, laughter, BBQ, stalls and of course cakes as it helps raise money for its work. The fabulous singer/song writer Sam Harrison will be perfuming throughout the day.  The day is also a chance for the public to explore the colourful, fragrant garden which has been lovingly designed and planted to create a tranquil space for reflection and outdoor relaxation. Particularly popular is the Walk of Life - a peaceful area dedicated to loved ones and open for everyone to see.

The Summer fair is a free fun event for all the family with face painting,  games and a bouncy castle. We hope to see you there.

Long Route - The challenging 90 mile long route of The Three Castle Challenge starts at Grimsthorpe Castle, winds north over some undulating and twisty tarmac before the stiff climb rewards at the first cake stop at Belvoir Castle. Down through the grounds and back to the heart of South Kesteven and Castle Bytham then off again exploring Rutland (and another cake stop at Burghley House) before returning to the fabulous facilities at Grimsthorpe.

Medium Route - 60 miles of beautiful South Kesteven countryside offers a fast yet hilly route around the top of Grantham, Belvoir Castle and returning to the private grounds of Grimsthorpe Castle via the spectacular ‘4 mile avenue’ where refreshments are well earned.

Short Route - Our Birthday route is a picturesque 30 miles to celebrate 30 years delivering Hospice care in Lincolnshire. A scenic route can be taken at leisure or a sprint.... you chose!
