That accreditation date is getting closer every day St Barnabas Hospice Trust, in partnership with the West Lincolnshire PCT and the United Lincolnshir Hospitals NHS Trust, is actively recruiting a consultant to join an expanding service.The Hospice, set in a leafy uphill suburb of the cathedral city of Lincoln provides a "Home from Home" atmosphere where patients, friends and relatives may relax and enjoy the expert care, warmth and friendship provide by trained staff and volunteers. With 11 beds, we provide palliative care for adults across Lincolnshire who are suffering with a life threatening illness such as Cancer, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and AIDS.

Full-time Temporary Post (35 hours per week) - Maternity Cover Commencing 15th March 2010 to 7th January 2011
St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice provides specialist palliative care to the people of Lincolnshire. Services include our Lincoln-based in-patient facility, together with county-wide provision of day-care, hospice at home, welfare and family & carer support services.
The Trust is seeking to appoint a temporary Palliative Care Co-ordinator to provide maternity cover from 15th March 2010 to 7th January 2011. The Palliative Care Co-ordinator works as part of a team using a telephone network and a bespoke computer database application to liaise directly with NHS, voluntary and private sector care providers in order to arrange packages of home care for palliative care patients in Lincolnshire.
Applicants must be educated to Educated to GSCE standard at grade C or higher in at least Maths and English and be computer literate to CLAIT / ECDL standard or equivalent, with proven administration skills and experience of working in a multi-functional office environment involving regular co-ordination and liaison with people (e.g. having experience of co-ordinating meetings, training sessions or social events).

A vacancy has arisen for a Community Services Team Leader, managing a multi-disciplinary team, providing both Hospice at Home and Day Hospice services for patients with palliative care needs in the Boston and Spalding areas. The post-holder will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing patient care and will also provide support and guidance to team members in the provision of palliative care, in conjunction with other community care agencies.
This post is subject to a Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Level Disclosure
Applications are welcome from candidates with current first level registration with the NMC and recent post-registration experience in the provision of clinical care in a relevant specialism – i.e. acute medicine, oncology, palliative care or community care, together with ENB 931 (1st level care of the dying) or equivalent and ENB 998 (Teaching & Assessing) or equivalent. Recent experience of day-to-day team supervision of a small number of clinical staff and the ability to perform the role with empathy and consideration for the complex needs of a range of patients and their families are further essential requirements of the job.

HIGHER LEVEL STAFF NURSE (Lincoln & Gainsborough)
Permanent part-time post, working 30 hours per week
Working within the community teams
St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice provides specialist palliative care to the people of Lincolnshire. Services include our Lincoln-based in-patient facility, together with county-wide provision of day-care, hospice at home, welfare and family & carer support services.
We are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Staff Nurse to work as part of the multidisciplinary / multi-agency team to provide individualised evidenced based patient care as part of a coordinated community care package. Responsibilities of the role will include the delivery of care to community patients, responding to the changing needs of patients, their family and carers and to support the work of the Team Leader in delivering high standards of specialist nursing care.
