Complementary Therapy is a term used to cover a range of specific therapies, which are offered as having potential benefit, but which are not offered as an alternative to conventional treatments (NHS National Cancer Peer Review Programme 2011)

Therapies on offer at your local Day Therapy Centre are dependant on the qualification of the Complementary Therapist.

The Complementary Therapy therapies provided are generally found to be beneficial both emotionally and physically.

Qualified Complementary Therapists give their time to St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice. A thorough assessment is made to ensure that there are no contra-indications to treatment and full informed consent is obtained prior to treatment.

Therapies are offered in a course of 4 treatments. After you have a course completed, your care will be discussed at a team meeting and if considered appropriate you may be offered further therapy.

A Health Professional, family member or yourself can contact your nearest main Day Therapy centre; Lincoln or Grantham, and you will be offered an appointment to see a member of the Clinical team to discuss treatment.
