Caring for half of the people who are living with a life threatening illness across Lincolnshire, The Trust's In-patient Unit is set in a leafy suburb of the cathedral city of Lincoln and provides a "home from home" atmosphere where patients, friends and relatives may relax and enjoy the expert care, warmth and friendship provided by trained staff with support from S R N & R G N nurses and volunteers.

Whilst terminal care remains an important part of it's life, many patients visiting the In-patient Unit return home after a successful period of palliative or respite care.

The Trust's five-Day Hospices situated in Boston, Gainsborough, Lincoln, Spalding and Sutton on Sea provide support and palliative care including a number of interesting pastimes such as art and craft activities. In supporting patients to stay at home during their illness, our Hospice at Home service is provided throughout our operational area and to complement this daytime operation we now include a night sitting service, designed to help carers and families.

All services are provided free of charge. Despite receiving local Primary Care Trust monies, the Hospice is required to raise the remaining £2.2 million needed through its fundraising activities and the generosity of the public.
